The Health Innovation Network invites colleagues from Integrated Care Boards (ICBs) across England to join a one-hour online Community of Practice focused on accelerating innovation adoption across systems.
Taking place on 18 March 2026 (1:00–2:00pm), this national session will bring together stakeholders from across health and social care to explore how we can strengthen collaboration and shape a shared approach to innovation adoption through the development of an Innovation Adoption Collaborative.
About the Project
This Community of Practice represents the third and final phase of a Health Innovation Network (HIN) project to deliver an ICB Innovation Adoption Collaborative.
The project has been led by Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria (HI NENC) in collaboration with Health Innovation Wessex (HI Wessex), on behalf of the wider Network.
Phase One involved national delivery of the HI Wessex Attitudes Towards Innovation Survey (ATIS), completed by ICB leaders. The survey provided valuable insights into how innovation is perceived across ICBs and their networks.
Phase Two brought together stakeholders in two online Innovation Design Service (IDS) facilitated sessions. These sessions explored:
· What a successful collaborative could look like
· Key trends and priorities for innovation adoption
· Potential activities to support system-wide adoption
The ideas generated will inform discussion at this final Community of Practice session.
Why attend?
The health and care system is undergoing significant change. This session provides an opportunity to reflect on insights gathered so far and to help shape what happens next.
Participants will:
· Review findings from the ATIS report
· Explore outcomes from the IDS sessions
· Discuss priorities and next steps for the Innovation Adoption Collaborative
The event will be facilitated by Health Innovation Wessex colleagues and will include a presentation from Sarah Rendall, Digital Transformation Programme Manager, Health Innovation North East and North Cumbria, who will share key IDS insights.
Who should attend?
This event is open to colleagues from all ICBs across England — not just those working in innovation roles.
It will be particularly relevant to colleagues working in:
· Innovation and transformation
· Strategy and planning
· HR and organisational development
· Learning and workforce development
· Clinical and operational leadership
· Programme and project management
Partners who work alongside ICBs and anyone interested in strengthening innovation adoption for the benefit of patients and the public are also welcome.
