Five AHSNs (East Midlands, Imperial College Health Partners, Innovation Agency, Oxford and West of England) have made it through to the finals of the HSJ Patient Safety Awards 2019, which recognise, reward and thank the hardworking teams and individuals who are improving healthcare outcomes for patients.
The next round of judging takes place in early May, when the teams will present their entries to a panel of judges. The winners will be announced on 2 July at Manchester Central on the first evening of the Patient Safety Congress.
The shortlisted projects are:

Category: Quality Improvement Initiative of the Year
Category: Maternity and Midwifery Services Initiative of the Year
Two of the shortlisted projects, LPZ and the SOS Dashboard, have been developed by regional Patient Safety Collaboratives (PSC). The national PSC programme is hosted by the 15 AHSNs, and funded and nationally coordinated by NHS Improvement.
