AHSNs to take centre stage at NHS Expo

The AHSNs will have a big presence at the annual Health and Care Innovation Expo, which takes place on 5 and 6 September in Manchester.

 This is the key annual NHS event, with speeches by NHS Chief Executive Simon Stevens and new Secretary of State for Health and Social Care Matt Hancock.

Our main exhibition area is referred to as the ‘AHSN Innovator Zone’ and we’ll have a series of displays, presentations and mini-theatres. It will be built around the following three elements, which will seek to build understanding of the breadth of our work, our cross sector collaborations and our future plans to spread innovation and support economic growth:

• Showcase of companies supported by AHSNs to spread their innovations
  
  
• AHSN national programmes and impacts – drop-in sessions and mini-theatres on the programmes, our support across the Innovation Pathway and the case studies we promoted as part of the NHS70 celebrations
  
  
• Displays on SBRI, NHS Innovation Accelerator, patient safety and digital
  

AHSN speakers will take part in sessions on the main Expo stage, and host ‘pop up university’ workshops on themes including Innovation Exchanges and artificial intelligence.
