Nightingale is a 5m Euro EU funded Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) project for innovators in patient monitoring, data analytics, communication, design and related areas.

It is an opportunity for large and small companies to define and design the next generation of acute care monitoring systems in Europe, for both hospital and home settings. The goal is to develop monitoring systems that are: 

• wireless and unobtrusive
  
• intelligent, with low false alarm rates
  
• allow interaction by patients

This exciting opportunity offers the chance: 

• for large and small companies to work together 
  
• in defining and designing the next generation of wireless, wearable technology coupled with intelligent analysis software 
  
• to work with global leaders in the field to develop, test and validate solutions in five major European hospitals
  
• for acute care monitoring systems for both hospital and home settings in Europe
  
• via a €5m EU funded Pre-Commercial Procurement (PCP) project for innovators
  
• to help reduce death and disability due to undetected deterioration
  

The team has already reached out to and received a lot of interest from companies, and are now focusing on raising awareness of the opportunity amongst UK based SMEs.
