Annual Report shows increasing impact and breadth of AHSN's work

31 May 2017

We are very proud to present our annual review of 2016-17.

The report outlines where we have connected NHS and academic organisations, local authorities, the third sector and industry. It highlights where we have helped create the right conditions to facilitate change across whole health and social care economies, with a clear and consistent focus on citizens, service users and patients.

The Annual Review demonstrates how are fully aligned with NHS England’s refreshed Five Year Forward View, and are working ever-more closely with the three STPs within Wessex. We are, every day, strengthening our understanding and value in the health and social care system, which is reflected across this document.

We believe the report summarises the full breadth of the work the AHSN undertakes, and its impact, including:

Bill Gillespie, chief executive of Wessex AHSN, said: "At the AHSN, we work up and down the system: from the role of the GP receptionist in improvement and innovation; to dialogue with policy makers and regulators about refining system design to support adoption and spread of innovation. Networks which are open to, and embrace, the diverse perspectives of these stakeholders will, in turn, help the systems and members whom they support, remain open to the adoption and spread of innovation.

"That is what we, at Wessex AHSN, aspire to. We hope you find this spirit reflected in our review of 2016-17."
