Dementia Friendly project iSPACE spreads in North Hampshire

26 January 2017

The Dementia Friendly project iSPACE has recently teamed up with Eli Lilly to spread the initiative across North Hampshire.

There are 20 GP surgeries in this area and so far seven have undertaken our accreditation process to become Dementia Friendly.  Over the next year Melissa Richards of Eli Lilly, the pharmaceutical company based in Basingstoke, will be engaging surgeries to take actions to become Dementia Friendly.

Actions include staff training, awareness of local services, environmental changes and carer engagement and support. This project is going extremely well with over 150 surgeries in the region having signed up to getting Wessex AHSN accreditation.

To find out more about how your surgery could follow these simple steps to Dementia Friendly accreditation, please contact Katherine Barbour, Senior programme manager, at katherine.barbour@wessexahsn.net
