Applications deadline extended: Health Innovation Programme 2016

21 January 2016

Do you have an innovative idea, service or product for Health or Life Sciences?

Following on from the successful 2015 Health Innovation Programme, Wessex Academic Health Science Network has once again teamed up with SETsquared, the Global #1 University Business Incubator, to deliver a world-class training programme that will support health innovators in the South of England.

This programme has been created to deliver coaching, mentoring and support. It will offer opportunities for businesses, entrepreneurs and health sector professionals to start and grow successful health innovation businesses and develop the next generation of health innovators.

The programme is an intensive three day course open to healthcare professionals, health and life science academics, small businesses and public contributors. It is focused on innovators with a clear business proposition or an innovative idea that has application in the healthcare sector.

Based on the proven SETsquared Entrepreneurship Programme, the Health Innovation Programme will help 20 individuals learn how to develop their business model, market and sell their idea and understand how to secure the resources and financial backing required to launch their innovative idea.

Places on the course for entrepreneurs are sponsored by Wessex AHSN, however they are limited and application selection will be on a competitive basis.

This is a personal skills development course that aims to enable individuals to take well-formed innovative proposals to business realisation.

You will have the opportunity to learn core skills in entrepreneurship and develop skills in the areas of:

  • customer analysis
  • building a business case
  • funding strategies
  • market analysis

The course will provide:

  • an opportunity to make a compelling pitch to an experienced panel
  • a great way to network with like-minded innovators
  • a friendly environment to try-out your ideas
  • a chance to get continuing support from us to further develop your proposition
