Our Stakeholder Conference 2015 showed how we're making a difference to health in Wessex

16 October 2015

Almost 150 delegates joined Wessex AHSN's executive, programme and clinical teams at St Mary's Stadium on 13th October to learn how we've been making a difference to people's health and supporting economic growth in the region's health and life science industries during 2014-15.

We listened to a range of speakers in addition to the Wessex AHSN Leadership Team, including:

  • Andy Moat, People Director at Wagamama
  • Dr Henry Clover, Deputy Chief Dental Officer at Denplan
  • Professor Anoop Chauhan, Director of Research at Portsmouth Hospitals NHS Trust
  • Professor Robert Middleton, Consultant Orthopaedic Surgeon, The Royal Bournemouth Hospital and Visiting Professor at Bournemouth University
  • Dr Alasdair Robertson, Directors, SAL Scientific Ltd
  • Dr Michele Legg – Clinical Lead for the Wessex AHSN Dementia Programme.

Delegates engaged with the Innovation Into Practice Marketplace during the day, where a range of our programmes outlined their work at a series of interactive stands. Exhibits included students from Eastleigh College who gave hand massages using Salisbury NHS Trust's skincare range My Trusty, a 'guess the units' bar from the Know Your Numbers alcohol awareness team, a grip strength competition from the nutrition programme leads and lung capacity testing from the MISSION Respiratory team.

Presentations and videos from the day will shortly be available to view and download below.
