Innovative Wessex alcohol team reach national finals of HSJ Awards

THE alcohol treatment team at Poole Hospital are finalists in this year's Health Service Journal awards.

They have been selected to contest the acute sector innovation category in recognition of the dramatic reduction in the number of days patients are spending at the hospital due to alcohol related conditions.

And as a direct result of their innovative approaches, the team has saved over £200,000 in the last 12 months and bed days for alcohol-related conditions have been reduced by 20%.
