Health Economist

Salary: £62,215 - £72,293 NHS Grade 8b

Fixed term: 23 months 37.5 per week

Location: Southampton Science Park, SO16 7NP

As one of 15 Health Innovation Networks across England we connect and support the NHS and social care, academics, industry and other key stakeholders to bring fresh energy to old problems, inspired thinking to new ones and to adopt innovative solutions and practice at scale.

Join our organisation where you will be responsible for using real world data for health economic analyses and population health management to generate evidence and support the adoption of innovation, improve health outcomes and support economic growth across Wessex.

  • You will need a tenacity to succeed, great communication and health economist skills.
  • You will have an ability to build new relationships quickly, and the capability to adapt and work flexibly, with a high degree of autonomy to deliver outcomes in a timely manner. 
  • Able to prioritise work and manage time effectively and complete agreed objectives within agreed standards and deadlines. 
  • We welcome applications from people with a wide range of past experiences – whether that be clinical, NHS management or from industry – an appreciation of the challenges involved with innovation and transformation  across health and care is an advantage to succeed in this role.

Discover the local area

Health Innovation Wessex is based at the University of Southampton Science Park in Chilworth, close to central Southampton and easily accessed from the M3 and M27 motorways, and Southampton Parkway train station.

We are located in bright modern offices, with free parking and a café and networking spaces on site. 27 acres of the Science Park site are designated a protected Conservation Area and staff are encouraged to explore them.
