The UK’s Industrial Strategy and Life Sciences Sector Plan emphasise place-based clusters and Innovation Zones as engines of economic growth and health improvement. Yet, Wessex—despite its world-class assets—has not been featured in these plans.
This workshop hosted by Health Innovation Wessex in November 2025 set out to change that, by defining ‘Why Wessex’: a compelling value proposition to attract government investment in the life sciences community and unlock opportunities for innovation and prosperity across Hampshire, Dorset, and the Isle of Wight.
