It is the biggest ever conversation about the future of the NHS, the consultation stage of the 10 Year Plan.
It doesn’t matter whether you have a lot or a little to say, your views, experiences and ideas will help shape services for years to come.
As patients, members of the public or frontline staff, there is a desire from policy-makers to hear experiences and priorities that can provide the insight needed to make the best decisions on how to move the NHS in England forward.
If you are part of the NHS’s 1.4 million workforce or work in care, the consultation has questions designed for you and your experiences. If you are a member of the public, there is a different set.
A website detailing the process and various community events which will be taking place across the country provides more detail on the background to the formation of the plan.
The Department of Health and Social Care is leading this work, alongside NHS England. It is the combined role of these organisations to support, protect, and improve the health and wellbeing of populations in England.
It maybe that you just have a bright idea on how to make the NHS better, more efficient – something that HIW helps innovators in medical technology achieve every day.
You are still able to put your idea forward quickly and simply on the Change.NHS website.
Public consultation is open throughout the rest of the year, but the team sorting through responses will benefit from any returns being made as soon as possible.
The 10 Year Health Plan is due to be published in spring 2025 and will be underlined by three big shifts in healthcare:
All three are areas which HIW and the innovators it supports will have a key role to play in turning the plan into reality.
