Wessex Academic Health Science Network (AHSN) has launched a competition to help innovators evaluate the impact of their innovations in a real-world setting.
The Real-world Evaluation (RWE) Competition will award the delivery of two evaluations, at no cost to the innovators.
The competition, which is funded by the Office for Life Sciences, launched on Monday 22 May and innovators are invited to apply by 12 noon on Tuesday 13 June.
The RWEs will be undertaken by Wessex AHSN’s Insight team, which specialises in offering a bespoke evaluation service for innovators.
The evaluations will be co-designed with the innovator and the evaluation site(s), with the findings helping to demonstrate the impact of the product in the intended healthcare setting.
Undertaking a RWE of the impact of a health innovation and its implementation in practice is a vital part of the pathway towards adoption-readiness.
RWEs are vital for gathering the evidence needed to support the adoption and spread of an innovation at scale, and therefore help drive economic growth in the health and life science sectors.
Emily Hunter, Senior Programme Manager, Insight team, at Wessex AHSN, said:
“With this competition, we seek to deliver real-world evaluations that will have the most impact on delivering economic growth for innovators.
“This is a competitive process to select innovators who can demonstrate their readiness to undertake an evaluation, and are well-placed to benefit from it as a result.
“This is an exciting opportunity to help support the adoption and spread of innovation and we look forward to receiving applications from innovators in the coming weeks.”
