Wessex Health Partners (WHP) seeks to appoint a part time non-executive Chair to establish, lead and govern the newly forming Wessex Health Partners.
Serving a diverse population of 3 million people in a region that spends circa £10bn per annum on health and care services, WHP is a new pan-regional partnership of universities and NHS organisations across Dorset, Hampshire and the Isle of Wight, with a common purpose: 'A partnership that learns together and accelerates improvements in health and social care through innovation, research and training, for the benefit of patients and wider society'.
Bringing together three universities, two integrated care systems, seven provider trusts and Wessex Academic Health Science Network, the ambition is to collectively tackle the greatest challenges facing the Wessex health and care system, and to generate greater collaborative and interdisciplinary research and the faster development and adoption of innovation at scale.
The Opportunity
WHP has a vision to become a designated Academic Health Science Centre (AHSC) and we are seeking a part time non-executive Chair to establish, lead and govern the newly formed Wessex Health Partners towards this designation. As a new Chair, you will play an integral role not only in shaping the governance of WHP, but in promoting a culture of strong inter-agency, interdisciplinary and cross-sectoral working, building strong partnerships across the region and identifying strategic opportunities in research, innovation, education, and translation that will have a tangible impact on improving pathways of care for people in Wessex.
