The Innovation Pathway comes to Wessex

The Innovation Pathway service offering, originally
developed by North East and North Cumbria (NENC) AHSN, has now been adopted by
all AHSNs to support NHS providers, CCGs, SMEs and businesses with the
development and commercialisation of their innovative ideas.

The pathway covers the entire innovation life cycle from
idea conception through to the eventual realisation of commercial success.

New ideas can originate from many sources, including innovators in industry, commercial companies, academics within universities and healthcare professionals within the NHS. However, the uptake of new ideas can often be impeded by the lack of a clear pathway and effective support to take these new ideas to market.

The Innovation Pathway has been created to support the development and commercialisation of innovative ideas and provide a unique opportunity for SMEs to access and benefit from, the healthcare sector.  Indeed, many of the services available to SMEs under The Innovation Pathway will also be critical to NHS trusts and Clinical Commissioning Groups in terms of the successful commercialisation of their new ideas.
