The Health Technology Support Programme (HTSP) is designed to support innovators and SMEs developing new products, innovations and technologies for health and care, to secure investment from targeted funding opportunities by accessing clinical and research expertise. If you are applying to any of the grant releases and require support to develop research team or real-world evaluation site, apply now for support from the Health Technology Support Programme. Or if you are a clinician or researcher in Wessex who would like to find out more about being involved in health technology research, please contact Rosie.Mackay@hiwessex.net
The programme will help you to progress your Health Technology to the next stage in the developmental pathway towards implementation into the NHS or social care. The HTSP is a collaboration between Health Innovation Wessex (HIW) and research and health organisations allowing innovators access to the vast research infrastructure that these two organisations provide.
The programme facilitates partnerships development for collaborations between innovators, academia, patients, public and clinicians to develop research teams with the ability to secure funding for innovation in health and care. Checking and editing applications, calculating research costs, evaluate innovations, help with regulatory submissions and support PPIE activities.
The NIHR Invention for Innovation (i4i) Programme supports the preclinical and clinical development of medical technologies in areas of existing or emerging patient need. During each round, specific funding opportunities will be in focus. These will largely involve the NIHR Invention for Innovation (i4i) grant releases:
Product Development Award (PDA) Stage 1 & 2 PDAs - fund the development of disruptive early-stage medical technologies that address existing or emerging healthcare needs. They support translational projects developing medical devices, in vitro diagnostics and digital health technologies that are patient-focused and for ultimate NHS or Social Care use.
Connect - Connect aims to help SMEs reach the next stage in the development pathway to apply for further funding, particularly the i4i Product Development Award.
FAST - FAST (Funding at the Speed of Translation) funding is aimed at innovators in need of a small amount of funding to answer a single specific question to address an evidence gap in developing an innovation.
We are currently accepting applications to support innovators with the NIHR Product Development Award (PDA) call 29: NIHR - i4i - PDA
