A new digital platform is now in place across the Hampshire and Isle of Wight STP supporting remote care of patients with confirmed or suspected Covid. Procured and built as a partnership between Wessex AHSN and Hampshire and Isle of Wight STP, the Covid Oximetry @ Home service on the Inhealthcare platform helps healthcare staff and patients monitor symptoms, while maintaining social distancing and allowing patients to recover safely at home.
The service has been designed to support identification and
management of patients at risk of deterioration. Patients with confirmed (or
suspected) Covid are given an oximeter to monitor their oxygen saturation
levels, and report these readings alongside other key systems on a regular
basis to their healthcare team.
The NHS approved supplier, Inhealthcare, has been rolled-out
across Hampshire and the Isle of Wight and Dorset ICS in primary, acute and out-of-hour
care settings.
Local systems across Surrey, Sussex, Milton Keynes,
Oxfordshire and Buckinghamshire are also adopting the Inhealthcare platform for
Covid Oximetry @ Home. The combined Wessex AHSN and Hampshire and Isle of Wight
STP team have developed resources to help other areas launch Inhealthcare as
quickly and efficiently as possible.
Wessex AHSN has developed an introductory video exploring
how the bespoke Inhealthcare platform supports Covid Oximetry @ Home.
The Wessex AHSN team, with the digital team from Hampshire and Isle of Wight STP, has developed a suite of resources to help teams using Inhealthcare to support their Covid Oximetry@ Home service.
Many of these documents, checklists and resources would also
be useful for other digitally enabled remote monitoring projects.
