A series of free online training videos aimed at care home and care sector staff have reached over 600,000 views on YouTube.
21 videos were produced as the result of a collaboration by Wessex and the West of England Academic Health Science Networks (AHSNs) and Hampshire, Southampton and Isle of Wight CCG, funded by Health Education England. Around 3 minutes each, the short videos describe how to take measurements from residents, spot signs of deterioration and prevent the spread of infection and have been described as having ‘the potential to save many lives. 14 of the videos are aimed at care home staff and 7 were re-recorded specifically for carers of people with a Learning Disability.
2 longer videos have also been produced by Wessex AHSN about RESTORE2 and RESTORE2mini. The videos, complete with associated slide presentations and handbook, have been produced as “Train the Trainer” resources for care organisations looking to implement these deterioration management tools in their care settings. The 2 videos have already been shared nearly 1,000 times.
