Dressed in blue tutus, wigs and feather boas, a few of the Patient Safety Collaborative (PSC) team toured Wessex, awarding prizes to teams that have been nominated by their organisational patient safety leads in celebration of the World Health Organisation’s (WHO) World Patient Safety Day on Tuesday, 17 September.
The PSC team headed out from Southampton on their road trip, sharing photos of their visits throughout the day on social media.
The worthy winners were:
Tracy Broom, Associate Director for Patient Safety Collaborative, said: “We’re so pleased to be able to mark the day by undertaking a road trip around the Wessex region to raise awareness of and celebrate local patient safety work.”
"The PSC team wanted to recognise the unsung heroes who quietly and conscientiously go above and beyond to improve patients’ well-being by awarding prizes to teams that have been nominated by their patient safety leads.”
Southampton Guildhall and clock tower was also being lit in orange to mark the day.
