Entrepreneurs and health sector professionals in the South, who are looking to start and grow successful health innovation businesses, are being offered the opportunity by SETsquared, the leading business incubator, and Wessex AHSN to meet and learn from successful entrepreneurs and investors first-hand.
Attendees will have the opportunity to hear from experts from SETsquared’s network who have collectively helped over 1,000 companies raise more than £1bn in investment over the last ten years, figures that have contributed to it being named by the UBI as the top university business incubator in Europe and number two in the world.
Simon Bond, Innovation Director at SETsquared, said: "This event is an excellent chance for local healthcare innovators to bring along their ideas and really set them to work in group discussions and business plan workshops. We’re very excited to bring this kind of training to the Wessex region and offer up the right knowledge through our experience with the AHSN."
The event is running at the Holiday Inn in Winchester on 17 March and entrepreneurs and health sector professionals can register their place at http://www.setsquared.co.uk/wessex-academic-health-science-network-connection-day.
SETsquared joined forces with four Academic Health Science Networks in the South of England in November last year to set up the revolutionary new programme that could see more effective and better value healthcare technologies benefiting patients quicker than ever.
As well as the one-day event, SETsquared and Wessex AHSN have teamed up to provide a three-day healthcare innovation programme in Southampton in April 2015. Visit http://www.setsquared.co.uk/wessex-academic-health-science-network-health-innovation-programme to apply for a place on the programme.
"Wessex AHSN is helping to develop strong businesses and bring new solutions to market," said Martin Stephens, Wessex AHSN’s CEO. "This initiative will support companies on their journey and boost innovation in the region to improve the health and care of our local population."
