Innovation Adoption Support Assistant

Gemma is an Innovation Adoption Support Assistant who joined Health Innovation Wessex in November 2023. Gemma moved over from University Hospital Southampton NHS Foundation Trust, where she had a career in administration.

Gemma started her NHS career as a Patient Pathway Coordinator in Adult Congenital Cardiology, managing all aspects of the patient’s pathway from referral to treatment. During her time in that role, she also successfully completed a course in Business Administration.

Gemma then moved to Child Health as a Database and Service Coordinator, where she was involved in setting up a new paediatric service, which was part of an NHS England initiative for children with complications related to excess weight (CEW). Gemma oversaw the south-east network for reporting metrics to NHS England as well as the administration management for the Southampton team. In this role, Gemma found her passion for supporting projects which make a difference to service users.
