Showcase event to explore the future of hypertension detection

Health Innovation Wessex is hosting an event in London during September that will bring together clinicians, commissioners and key figures from the hypertension and cardiovascular disease sectors to plan for a future of reducing risk and improving outcomes.

The NHS 10 Year Plan highlights the shift from analogue to digital for healthcare, that wearables and biosensors will be standard in prevention, chronic and post-acute NHS treatment and the delivery of a more patient-focussed health service. This event will present pioneers across the country already achieving this through ingenuity and forward thinking, in addition to showcasing innovations that are going to change the future in this clinical space. 

Among the speakers will be Lifelight founder Laurence Pearce - who will be demonstrating his innovation, the world's first smartphone device for accurately reading blood pressure using the integrated camera and no additional hardware.

He said: "Health Innovation Wessex continues to be an essential partner as we prepare for the launch of Lifelight as a certified Class IIa medical device in autumn 2025. Their expertise in event planning and industry insights will be key to ensuring the launch is a milestone moment in our growth."
