The competition to win a real-world evaluation of a medtech innovation in Wessex, delivered by our Insight specialists has opened.
With no cost to the innovator or host health or care site, it means a prize worth between £30,000 and £50,000. The value of this competition becomes even greater if the findings contribute to wider implementation of the innovation in healthcare markets.
Eligible innovations will need a confirmed site in Hampshire, Dorset or the Isle of Wight to carry out the evaluation before the end of this financial year.
Details of the conditions and how to apply have been published on the competition page.
A previous winner is PENTAX Medical, with a new system for cleaning, drying and storing endoscopes with reduced cost, space, time and waste benefits. You can read the independent evaluation of PlasmaTYPHOON+ on our website.
While the evaluation will need to be undertaken in Dorset, Hampshire or the Isle of Wight, the innovator does not necessarily have to be based there too. The competition has been made possible by our national commission.
Emily Hunter, Insight team Associate Director, said: “An independent evaluation of an innovation is a valuable step for innovators and adopters alike to gain evidence for wider implementation – especially when the cost is covered by winning our competition.
“We want to hear from partnerships of Wessex region health or care organisations and innovators who can demonstrate their readiness to undertake an evaluation, and we look forward to seeing their entries.”
If you’re unsuccessful, or not quite eligible for the competition, our Insight team is available year-round for real world evaluation commissions that will help innovators, clinicians and purchasing managers understand the impact and potential of an innovation.
